Have you heard of Naapii who created the prairies from a handful of mud, or wondered why mosquitoes buzz around your ears? Would you like to know how to make soup from a handful of stones, or read the sad story of Petit Blanchette, the little white goat? All these intriguing stories, and many more are found in this book. A World of Stories is a collection of folk tales Andrea collected from people of different ethnic groups who live on the prairies. Each story is beautifully illustrated by one of Gillian Campbell's paintings. The paintings reflect the country the story comes from, and is bordered by prairie spring flowers, to symbolize where the story was collected.

This book is out of print but, is still found in many libraries. Check the Resources for Teachers section to see if this title is available directly from the author.
